Brody was sooo happy to see his wife and child- and visa versa! It was cute to see Evan wanting to be around him (although he still preferred me to either of them :)
There was a park about a block away that we went to every day except Saturday when it rained ALL day. It was wonderful to be warm enough in just a long sleeve shirt.
Since he won't keep mittens on, we thought we'd try putting his hands in his jacket pocket to keep them warm and were so surprised that he left them in there!
Evan was playing in the front seat of the car one day and opened the door and fell out on the gravel. It was so sad and he was left with this wound on his forehead.
On Sunday we rode the bus to downtown from the rental house (a 20 min ride), ate lunch at Ivar's, then rode the ferry 30 minutes to Bainbridge Island and walked around there for a couple hours. It was such a beautiful day and I loved seeing another part of Seattle. (We didn't have too much luck with the selfie stick...)
I love it whenever Evan wants to hold someone's hand while in his stroller. He whines if you don't do it.
We found out the day we got to Seattle that the move in date got pushed back two days so we were more than ready to get going on moving in when Monday finally came. I was so mad because this meant I'd only be there for 2 1/2 days to help (the second original plan was for me to be there for a week, but after my second ticket was purchased- the first one was a waste since their original date got pushed back a week-but then it got moved back three days.. all in all it was a horrendous home buying experience...). Because this was the home buying experience from hell, we spent the first 1 1/2 days moving the sellers out as they left behind all their furniture (which K&B knew about) and so much of their crap. We had to rent a cargo van to haul a lot of it away to goodwill and junked the rest of it. Each day was exhausting and frustrating, but I'm so glad I could be there to help out. I had wanted to leave them with everything unpacked and some painting done, but that didn't come close to happening. One day everything will be moved in and fixed up and it will be an awesome home!
I spent several hours one morning organizing all the bins and boxes in the basement and made a pile of things they won't need to get into for awhile.
Some of the items Kylee tried to give away to Goodwill were rejected so after she returned the van, this is how she had to drive home. Haha. I laugh every time I see this picture.
I loved taking Sal and Evan on a walk every afternoon when there was an opening with no rain. I love that moss grows right on the sidewalks!
It was soooo sad and hard to say goodbye to Ky and Evan after being together 24/7 for 2 months. I had been dreading this day ever since I found out they'd be living w/ us then moving twice as far away, and just as I'd feared, it was terrible leaving Evan crying in the car seat at the airport and me walking away with tears streaming down my face. I'm counting the days until I get to see them again...(48). (and even though we're smiling in this picture, 1 minute later we were both crying...)
It was amazing to come home to this delicious dinner brought to us by Freda. That mother-in-law of mine... she's one of a kind that's for sure.
Something that helped take my mind off my sorrows was helping to welcome a new, beautiful addition to the family. Meet Marissa Lynn Bundy! Isn't she precious? I'm in love with her already.
Saturday morning we woke up to about 8" of snow and it probably snowed another 4" during the day. Jake went skiing and said it was the best ski day of his life. It was great to just relax in bed and read and let Mike take care of all the shoveling and snow blowing!
These were taken on Sunday when the sun was shining. I adore it when there's fresh snow and blue skies.
It was so wonderful to Skype w/ the Hatch's a couple days after I got home and to see how happy and excited Evan was to see me. How can I bear to be away from those adorable faces?
