Labor Day at Bear Lake

We reserved my cousin Janis's cabin at Bear Lake over Labor Day weekend, so the Hatch's decided to join us in the fun and I'm so glad it worked out for them to do so! But I'm sad that Mike is so ridiculously busy at work that he couldn't break away to come too. We all got there around noon on Saturday. After eating a tasty lunch and giving Evan a nap, we all headed down to the beach. Although it wasn't that warm (low 60's) it was sunny and we had a great time watching Evan experience the sand and water for the first time.

He was fearless and didn't stop smiling until shivering uncontrollably overcame his enthusiasm.

He kept falling down but got right back up every time. It was quite entertaining.

Have you ever seen a happier little boy?

After a couple hours at the lake, we ate a yummy dinner at Zipz before heading back to the cabin to play Hollywood Game Night and Scum.

Kylee and I spent a few hours on Sunday making cards and tags. I love having some on hand.
Look at our matching shoes!!

Evan loved walking up the steep driveway all by himself then getting help on the way down.
Many a serious chess game was played throughout the 2 1/2 days we were there.

Another thing that was taken seriously was playing video games (Dr. Mario) and watching movies. We watched The Good Lie and an episode of Human Planet. Both very good.
The Bundy's made us a delicious Sunday dinner with this delicious chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert. After dinner, we all had a great time playing a fun Amazing Race that Linny organized.
On Monday we rented a boat and had fun being on the water for a couple hours. Even though Evan looks pretty happy in all these pictures, he actually was not at all happy during his hour long boat ride. It may be because he fell and hit his head within 5 minutes of getting on the boat, or it may be because he was hungry. So we finally went to shore and I got off with him (along w/ Linny and the girls) and he was happy as could be playing in the sand and water (after eating a large amount of food.)

Everyone but me and Lindsey had a great time surfing and Ky and Jake did some wakeboarding as well.

The lake is just so gorgeous! I hadn't been out on it in a boat for over 20 years.

Until next time Bear Lake. Thanks for treating us so well.

August

It's been great going to the temple with Jake regularly since he's been back. I love that we have this beautiful one just down the road.
Two of Cam's good friends- Britnee & Megan stopped by one night for a visit. We had fun watching Cam's high school DVD and checking out his room. I love these girls and am grateful for the good friends my kids have always had.

The Bundy girls joined me and Jake for a viewing of Frozen one day. Then the whole family joined us for dinner and badminton.

Cam is loving his area and companion. He's working hard and I'm so proud of him!

As always, I LOVE getting new pictures of my favorite 1 year old.
Hey, where'd my pine cone go?
I can't stand the cuteness...

It's so cute that Evan eats table food now. Here he is downing an entire pear.

His first corn on the cob.
He loves playing at the park.

Jess and Brad had these pictures taken this summer in Louisville. I absolutely adore how they turned out. What a beautiful couple!

We had some rocks delivered in the front yard. Luckily our landscape architect was there to place them. I love how they look! (and I'm glad our grass didn't get ruined by the machines)

My cute niece Taylor got married to an amazing man- Brian. It was so wonderful to attend their wedding and reception in Logan.

It was great to have all my sisters and brothers there. This doesn't happen often enough.
Last year I didn't have someone to pose on the front porch on their first day of school and that was a sad day. Happily this year I had this handsome man heading off to his second year at USU.
