Every time I walk by a little league baseball game I get so sad that that time in my life is over...
I was SO sad to say goodbye to Jake for the summer. He'll be living in Houston selling for Vivint with his friend Bretton. He was sad to say goodbye to me too, but not as sad as he was to say goodbye to his girlfriend Kylee...
It was great spending some time with Kylee C. once Jake left since she's living in Logan for the summer. She joined Jess and I one morning to hike the new Highline trail in Logan Canyon.
I'm so happy Mike, Jess, Jake and I could attend the Memorial Service and Burial for Jake Robertson in Orem. It was such an amazing service and I was so happy to be there to support Jordan, her kids and the Romneys. I have really been impacted by Jake's life and attitude and I hope to emulate him as much as I can. He was such a wonderful husband, father, and son.
After the luncheon at the church, we made a quick stop at Thanksgiving point and Traverse Mountain mall before stopping for lunch at Zupas at the Station in Farmington.
Mike left this setting for me on Mother's Day morning, and all I had to do was cook the waffles. He always pampers me so much- especially on Mother's Day.
Jess and Brad made us a delicious lunch, then stayed for our Skype session with this handsome boy and the Hatch's and Jake. It was wonderful to have everyone together even though we were in 4 different states.
The sisters got together in Orem one weekend and had a wonderful time being together. Friday night Von made us a delicious Salmon dinner then we sat downstairs and talked for almost 3 hours about the Robertsons and everything that had happened during the past few months. It was amazing to hear all the details of what went on during the last 6 weeks of Jake's life.
We had a cookout one Sunday with Mom, the Wheelwrights, Bundy's and Kylee C. A fun time was had by all!
Because of all of Mike's hard work outside, our yard is looking amazing!
I left for Seattle on Wednesday, May 25- a day before Kylee's due date. It was so hard to know when to go since I wanted to be there to take care of Evan while they were in the hospital. Kylee felt sure she would come early, but at each weekly doctor visit leading up to when I came, the doctor kept saying nothing was happening and didn't expect her to go into labor anytime soon. I only missed the last 2 days of school so felt good about coming when I did. Driving alone for 12 hours worked out great! I could stop to go to the bathroom whenever I wanted, I could have the temperature in the car just how I like it,and I could listen to whatever I wanted! The time went by really fast as I listened to the podcast called Serial- season 1. It was a very interesting real life murder mystery. It was so great to be with the Hatch's again. And as it turns out, I had a full week there to help with projects and play with Evan before Owen made his arrival on June 2nd.
I loved spending time outside every day with Evan- especially in the backyard where it is extra beautiful.
We met up with Brody one day for lunch at one of the carts in front of his office. Evan knows the starbucks logo and knows that's where Daddy works, so every time he sees one (and it's a lot) he says "daddy work!"
Who couldn't love being around this darling boy every day?
The home projects I helped with before Owen was born was painting the new baseboards the trim around the closets, doors and windows in Evan's new room and Ky and Brody's room that Brody installed. Here are some after pictures.
These new shelves above the sink were a team effort. Brody put them up, I painted them and Kylee decorated them! I love how it turned out.
This lovely carpet was installed one day replacing laminate flooring going down the stairs. It was a much needed improvement.
I made this dust ruffle for Ky and Brody's room.
I also made cookies, bread and several freezer meals for after I was gone. I washed some windows and blinds, did some weeding and mowing, made a cushion for the backyard bench and did some house cleaning. My goal was to let Kylee and Brody just relax and enjoy their last few days before the baby came. And it wasn't easy to do! They didn't want me doing so much, but I didn't listen to them :) I absolutely loved being of service and helping out.
