Arizona trip

I had an awesome weekend trip to the land of the sun. I absolutely loved being around family and friends while soaking up some sunshine and enjoying the blue sky. It really rejuvenated me! I think I can survive the rest of the Cache Valley winter now! I loved staying with Ann and Trace one last time as they've sold their winter home in Mesa. It was great seeing Mom and David, Paul and DeNae, and my great friends Lorene and Kristie and their families.

I enjoyed helping Lorene celebrate turning 50 earlier in the week by going to our favorite restaurant for breakfast- the Farmhouse. Love that place! We then shopped a little, and went to the movie Leap Year. That afternoon, Kylee and Brody came to spend the rest of the weekend with me and the Skeens in Mesa. That evening, we grabbed some KFC and went on a beautiful dessert hike. We ate our dinner around a campfire while watching the full moon rise over the superstition mountains, and hearing a pack of coyotes howling. It was pretty exciting. We played "hearts" back at the Skeens winter quarters, then went hot tubbing.

On Saturday, I enjoyed an early morning walk with Kristie, talking non-stop, then we all, plus Paul biked either to or from Saguaro Lake (Paul and Trace went both ways). It was so beautiful! I loved it so much. We enjoyed a tasty lunch at a restaurant on the lake. So much fun!

Kylee, Brody and I then met up with Mom at her trailer park to go shuffleboarding. We're big fans of the sport ever since our cruise last year. Mom and I had a thrilling come from behind win (I think this is the only game of the whole weekend that Brody didn't win. . . that boy is either so lucky, or ridiciously good at every thing he tries). Ann helped Ky and I make a cute Valentine craft, we went out to eat with Mom and David, then played another fun card game. Trace planned a really fun WalMart scavenger hunt that Ann, Ky, Brody and I had fun doing. Ann and I only lost by one point.

I loved spending time with my two wonderful friends whom I miss so much. They have enriched my life for the past 20 years, and I'm so grateful for their love and influence in my life. They're the best.

It was great to be home, and see Mike and the kids, and I have to say I even thought this scene through Sardine Canyon was beautiful! Afterall, there's no place like home!

Your hair looks super cute in that post below this one. When did you get it cut?! I'm going Friday. Mine is loooong, but I'm not ready to chop it yet. Looked like good good times in AZ. Kylee sometimes looks like Linny in the background in those shots. I bet you could have stayed 2 weeks and filled it with fun. But the family back home would have missed you too much. The frozen trees and blue sky in Cache Valley are beautiful. I made cupcakes tonight and after I have a few I think....how long could I stay off sugar (haven't made it past MAYBE one day in my life) have you?

What a fun trip!! I love all the photos and all the details. It's funny to see all those photos as I am sitting in AZ myself right now. However, I am not thinking "there's no place like home." At least not yet. Surely in a week's time I might be wanting my own bed. Oh wait. Even then I will be just going from my parent's guest room to their other guest room. tee-hee. Glad you had a great time.
